Kayak Fishing Southwest Florida

Kayak Fishing Charters Pine Island Sound

We at High Tailin Charters cater to the artificial and fly fishing enthusiast.  High Tailin Charters is proud to be a catch and release guide service.  We offer guided trips for species such as snook, redfish, trout, tripletail, tarpon, sharks and much more. We focus mainly on the inshore waters of Southwest Florida including, Estero Bay, Matlacha, Pine Island Sound, and Charlotte Harbor. Much of these waters are covered with miles of lush grass flats and mangrove shorelines that are home to many of the gamefish mentioned above. This type of environment provides many sight fishing opportunities and is what makes Southwest Florida such a unique fishery. Along with the inshore fishing we also specialize in nighttime snook and shark trips on the beaches of Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and Bonita Beach. Our priorities are your safety and assuring that you have an enjoyable and educational experience out on the water.

Kayak fishing is one of the fastest growing sports today, and for good reason. With rising gas prices, kayak fishing provides an avenue for getting out on the water without the high fuel costs associated with power boating.  There are a dozen or more other benefits to kayak fishing!  Kayak fishing allows one to see and approach fish from a totally different perspective. As you can see from some of our many photos, kayaks allow you to get closer to fish than you ever thought possible.

Whether you are a professional kayak fisherman or you are a beginner to kayaking and/or fishing, we will do our best to guide you to a wonderful day on the water in beautiful Southwest Florida.

Check the Fishing Reports section for recent outings and photos!!!

Summer fishing has arrived.  The tide window for tailing redfish is slim, but still around.  The tides are generally higher which gives a better shot at an inshore slam (snook, redfish, and trout).

The large tarpon are intercepting our shark baits from the beach and we have landed a few 100# fish in between catching sharks.  Take a chance at this throughout the month of June and July.

Shark fishing is in full force.  With so much mackeral, ladyfish, tarpon off of the beaches the sharks aren't far behind them.  Check the fishing reports page for recent shark trips.

Previous Charter Testimonials

I had the privilege of shark fishing with David and Shane in March.  It was awesome!  When my boyfriend and I got to the beach, they had the rods set up and the bait ready to go.  We were anxious and excited about catching our first shark.  After about 30 minutes, we heard the clicker go off...It was incredible, we reeled in a 7 foot Sandbar shark!  We stayed out for another hour or so and caught two more Sandbar sharks!  Three sharks in one night, what an amazing adventure!  These guys are GREAT at what they do!
